Sydney Blue Gum

Overview

Similar to Blackbutt but red in colour, Sydney Blue gum is a popular Native Australian timber.

Not to be confused with Southern Blue Gum which is a common plantation tree, Sydney Blue Gum is known for its beautiful rich to pale red-brown hues. The grain is mostly straight but occasionally interlocked. The timber takes well to polishing and is hence desirable for decorative uses.
